[Tale of The Snowdancer] Part 1 : Winterland
Ini adalah negeri Winterland, tempat kisah kita berada. Konon, salju dan musim dingin yang meliputi negeri ini sepanjang waktu disebabkan oleh Sang Penari Salju, seorang wanita cantik yang senantiasa menari dalam kesedihannya di puncak Gunung Frostpeak, yang berada tepat di tengah-tengah tanah ini. Inilah gunung terbesar dari kelima gunung besar yang ada: Crystalpeak di utara, Whisperpeak di selatan, Hummingpeak di timur, Mirrorpeak di barat, dan Frostpeak di tengah-tengahnya.
Sebatang sungai yang mengalir dari Crystalpeak ke selatan dinamakan Crystalstream oleh orang-orang. Sungai ini seolah-olah tersambung dengan sungai Froststream Besar yang mengalir dari Frostpeak lurus ke utara, padahal sebetulnya pada suatu tempat keduanya mengalir ke bawah tanah. Kemungkinan keduanya bertemu di bawah sana. Dari Frostpeak ke selatan terbujur sungai Froststream Kecil, yang bercabang di pertengahan Frostpeak dan Whisperpeak; kedua anak sungai tersebut mengalir ke laut di selatan Winterland.
